Appraisal for 2011 preformance

Today, I met Norman Woods for my appraisal for 2011 performance.
This is an inspiring discussion about my strength and weakness which helps me to think of few steps ahead, though I do not prefer to think for long time in life or career!

Here are some points suggestioned by him:
1) Visiting more wet markets and competitors where can learn a lot from them.
2) Do coaching to improve their weakness of stores in WFIF check result.
3) Take chance to risk, do not be afraid of making mistakes to have new ideas or new concepts.
4) Cross banners to learn or interflow with others.
5) Make use of other strength to improve other's weakness.
6) Do more reading.
7) Increase the sense of urgency to put stop to stores's issues.
8) Let boss know what are the good things I am doing for stores.
9) Use both soft and force skills at good timing to manage people, be tougher to the team, sometimes is needed.
10 ) Quaterly review of my own plan of strategy.

By and large, he was satisfied with my performance. He reminded me that do not underestimate myself.
Good things is that, I can honestly tell this boss that I am not aggressive type, but use my heart to do the tasks. And he knew very much about it.
But he still can induce me to do more, still with life balance. So he is genius in human management i.e. retail.
