Botanic garden & Cooking by Guest

After having lunch buffet at Haytt which gathers all Singapore famous food, not western type, we caught a cap to go to Botanic garden which is very ' green' and big. Before we can enjoy all, it started to rain and lasted for long time. Finally, we went back early at 6:00pm. My sister cooked for us again. The fried Udon is my favourite dish when I was in secondary school that she cooked for me. So good that I can enjoy it again. The lamb chop with Pumpkin was yesterday 's dinner... so yummy~~~
My sister keeps asking for smarties ice-cream which is not available in HK, we finally bought it, but McFlurry of smarties is better than it!! hahahaha....
I bought new sun flowers yesterday. Color is so bright!!

East coast and accident

Today, I also started my holiday. I went to East Coast with them for cycling.

Last time, I drove to right hand side of the cycling path. This time, we went for the left and I found something new. Along the way, I found the sand castle, well decorated flower rack and also a water ski centre. However, there is something bad happen to me when we return....

I fell down from the bicycle and hurt my legs and hands. The serious one is on my right hand and the skin has scratched away.... sooooo painful.....

Food is a key point in this trip. So we went to Katong Boon Tong Chicken Rice which is quite famous in town. and also cookery by my sister with my favourite Jap Pumpkin!!!

The second day, before I went to work of afternoon shift. I brought to a quite famous hawker centre in Newton. See... quite good~~

My dearest guests have arrived

My dearest guests have arrived Singapore yesterday.
The first time I went to Changi Airport MRT station which is well designed and seems having fine restaurant and shopping mall hehre. However, I am rushing to Terminal 1 for picking up my guests.
After I arrive a while only, they came out of the gate at about 8:30pm. Then, we first went back home and went to hawker centre downstairs for dinner.
Almost every hawker centre in Singapore is like, having drink section and different counter of different kinds of food.
This time, I chosen Indian food for them!

Malaysia 2 day trip 17-18 May 2008

I am very lucky. During my stay in Singapore, Ruth is also here. She always invite me to join her dinner and activity.
Last Sat & Sun, we had special activity. We went to Malaysia by car. Our destination is Genting Highland. We had 2 days 1 night trip.
Members included me, Ruth, her Husband and her husband's friend, Louis , the one who drives!!!
We set off at 8:00 from Newton Hawker centre. We first went to enjoy the ' Meat Bone Tea' in JB in Malaysia. JB is very dangerous area where a lot of robbery, attack happens. Anyway, I like the food there.
Another drive of 4 hours, we finally arrived Genting at about 3:30pm. However, the first world hotel we stayed has a lot of customer. Even, for check in, we need to wait in long quene which shows in digital board our numbers.
After havng dinner of Chinese dishes at ' Causeway ', we just wandered around and went back hotel room to play cards and enjoy wine.
There is long time I have played cards with group of friends like that. They also introduced us new games, or some new change of existing games that I know.
Next day, we went to KL twin tower and have very good Seafood dinner in JB before we left for Singapore.
Though this is the second time for me to visit Genting and KL and take a long time in traveling, I enjoy the trip because of the food, the music and chatting with friends and just forget about other things.

Another Shopping Time

Shopping... in supermarket is enjoyable.
I went to cold storage today and saw a lot of snack. I must buy this time. I need some excitment in 'taste'!!
I always want to buy flowers to put at home. Today, I found special color of sun flower. I put it in kitchen, entrance and living room, nice???

Pre trip

Yesterday night, I have a 'pre trip' before my guests coming, because some places I have been to yet.
We went to hawker centre at Newton where we can have satay, bbq chicken wings. Not bad!!!
Then, we walked to Orchard Road. There is a department store having sale. We got bargains there. I got a pair of comfortable, good quality slipper style shoes which I searched for long time.
It was great to have good food, chatting and shopping with friend.

Big dinner

After waking up. I got a quite big dinner tonight. And I used fry pan to prepare the pork meat!! So brave!! and tasted good!

Fishery Market

I always like to see and know different things. Last night, I arranged myself to have closing check in stores , then visit the fishery market overnight and go to stores for set up observation.

Fishery market is something new to me, let me share more here.
The market starts from 01:00am. There is dock next to it to unloading/uploading stock from ships.
My colleague, seafood buyer, Chong (the brown shirt man) shares with me the details of the market: the process of the procurement, variety of seafood, how he check the price....
Giant has a business partner to help in seafood business. The staffs of ths company start to work when the market starts until noon in the stores to help in the allocation, delivery in the fishery market, as well the operation in stores. As I winessed yesterday, they are not having easy life. Work overnight, soooo hot, a lot of physical output, great energy usage with the hugh volume of seafood e.g Batong, which is very popular in Singapore, needs 300 kg in particular one store.

Before stock arrive the store, I have a nap in Chong's truck. At 7:00am, sky lights up. I continued to observe the receiving and setup in store. The staffs from the fish market also continued to do the unloading of stock to the store. Put the stock from baskets to baskets to have weight check without ice or water. Pallet by pallet are pulling into the counter of the store.

This store (IMM) has very big seafood counter and very good sales. Total 4 staffs do the setup only. Basket by basket put the ice on the display, spice by spice display the products on the ice. The staffs in this store has very discipline. They are very concentrate, contributive and efficient. I appreciate very much.

It is very good experience for me. It reminds me that every one should play their own part in their life, in the company or society, no matter it is easy, not easy. We should do it with our heart.
P.S. : There is long time I have not done self photo shooting. The skill is still quite good :>

From the TVB news, I saw the process of the delivery of Olympic Fire. I saw the sea of people in red shirts. It was so touching.

Rice Cooker Replaced

The importance is to find the solution.... I got the replacement of the rice cooker. This is my dinner tonight!
With the soya sauce added into the egg and rice, it tasted good. I have Kale and mini wombok with XO sauce... I am satisfied with today's menu!
